The creations of Teatro Necessario combine various disciplines, incorporating elements of dance, theatre, circus and music. Each new show presents a unique poetic narrative, combining different aspects of the art of movement in a manner which blurs the boundaries between them. Where does theatre end and circus begin? When do dance and gestural improvisation begin to take over from mime and comic buffoonery?

The company has won numerous circus art and street theatre awards in Italy and elsewhere.
