The RICOCHET Project

The RICOCHET Project
  • United States

Weaving delicate metaphor with jaw dropping spectacle, Ricochet's unique style of poetic acrobatics has taken the world by storm. The artistic duo of Cohdi Harrell and Laura Stokes combine lyrical physicality with the technical virtuosity of the circus.

Originally from New Mexico, Cohdi Harrell received a thorough education in martial arts and the arts of the circus, spending years crafting, improvising, producing and examining the articulation and potential of the human body. A primarily self-taught trapeze artist and an untrained dancer, his unique approach to acrobatics and movement has brought him international acclaim. His work takes him around the world, above and beyond his collaboration with Ricochet, for solo projects as well as performances with artists such as Nature, Brian Mayhall, DNumbers and Coco Rosie.

Laura Stokes is a zealous movement researcher, educator, and performer.  Always fascinated by the notion of embodied experience, she was a child gymnast, a teenage ballerina, and at one point, a budding yogini. She is now an avid contact improviser, ecstatic aerialist and performer with a great deal of presence. Laura works with circus virtuosity, somatic awareness and the most basic emotion to create work that examines how we inhabit the physical space of our lives through our bodies.
