The dancers’ relationship to space is fundamental to their performance style. From conventional theatre stages to the streets, from bucolic settings to industrial environments, in the most unexpected places and even in movement, G. Bistaki revels in creating “in situ” performances which offer a window into the company’s contemporary, rudimentary choreographic universe.
The performers take time to appropriate and transform the space, remaining receptive to all possibilities, regularly shifting the order of scenes and events. Local people are often enrolled to help, welcomed into this beguilingly strange world.
