There are two levels of performance at work here: the actors doing their business on the stage, busting a gut to entertain the public with their historic costumes, opulent sets and tortuous plots…
Meanwhile, behind the curtain and far from the spotlight, three tireless assistants are putting on a real show... The technical team (super-efficient Bob, sickly Bernd and lazy Ivan) give us a rare glimpse into their lives, usually hidden from view.
Together they form a burlesque sort of family, held together by humour and shared fun. Because if there’s one thing this odd trio knows how to do it’s how to elicit laughs and emotions without saying a word, with the expressive power of their movements and multiple transformations...
