Guillem Albà et Clara Peya

A marvellous little show about the challenges involved in making contact with Others.

A playground surrounded by a little ledge; in the centre, a pianist and a young man... The latter breathes life into a variety of puppets (finger puppets, string puppets of varying sizes, etc.), all of which look like him – same face, same clothes – and serve as his doubles as he attempts to approach the elusive musician…
Little drops of rain… There is nothing more magical than that special intimacy which only the theatre can provide. The stage design of this piece puts the audience right up close to the action, as the magic unfurls from the hands of two of the brightest emerging talents of the Spanish scene: clown-puppeteer Guillem Alba and pianist and composer Clara Peya.
Exploring themes of vulnerability, fear of others and the difficulty of making contact, Pluja makes clever use of different sizes and forms of puppets (all avatars of their handler) in strange surroundings where things are not always as they seem.  A safe haven for those who sometimes feel that they are too small for this world.
