Compagnie de Fakto

A tender, screwball solo performance inspired by hip-hop music.

A maintenance worker in the Cabaret du Chat Noir is secretly in love with the star dancer. Alas, his feelings are not reciprocated. As he cleans her dressing room while she performs a series of numbers on stage, he is carried away by the music and gives free rein to his imagination…
Who has never pined secretly for a man or woman we believed beyond our reach? Awkward, hopelessly in love, the hero tries to overcome his shyness and declare his love, but he is sorely lacking in self-confidence. Little by little, helped by the sound reaching him from the stage, his imagination overcomes his shyness and he dreams that he too is a talented artiste. The sound effects, music and applause from the gallery both nurture and contradict his imaginary seduction of his beloved.
To tell this tale of unrequited love, Aurélien Kairo abandons dance and embraces mime and gesture in a tender and burlesque solo performance inspired by hip-hop music.
