Didiel Manuel, director of theatre company Materia Prima, presents an extract from a work in progress, which he describes in the following terms:
“A journey through the light and shadow of our duality, the ‘syllogism of the crab’ is the murmur of a body wracked with hermaphrodite tensions and subsumed by the quest for the Other. ‘All men are alone; I am a man, so I must be alone’ is a well-worn syllogism. But crabs walk sideways.
