Impressed and amused by the summit between Reagan and Gorbachev, Ralf-Ralf (Barnaby) and Jonathan (Stone) re-enact the defining moments of this historic meeting with biting humour. In 1989, the first version of this show won a Bessie Award in New York. Le Sommet has since taken on a broader character, expanding its mockery and caricature to encompass all forms of confrontation between political and economic negotiators. But, in spite of the high stakes and latent hatred between them, the two protagonists gently nudge one another towards a greater sense of empathy and understanding. They end up getting along after all, despite the invisible strings being pulled by the power-brokers who control them.
