A powerful evocation of war and the havoc it wreaks on innocent lives.
Two masked men on stilts take the stage: death stalks this place. Guard towers, whip cracks, arbitrary arrests, manhunts, sinister looks, rape. Postcards from the darkest hours of Bosnia and elsewhere. From all wars. Sometimes, the soldiers change sides and keep on fighting… Shocking, but "the show must go on" and this Carmen funèbre is infused with a dark but powerful aesthetic quality.
